Food & Beverage; Housekeeping
Legacy
Hospitality Academy food & beverage training program recognizes
that success in F&B deserves critical attention "all around the
house"...front & back; as well as before, during and after the
sale. The point is that each component of the F&B operation
contributes equally to guest satisfaction and, ultimately, fiscal
success in the operation. Likewise, Likewise, our housekeeping course
extends far beyond how to make a bed, etc. In fact, all of the courses
in this section are composed of multiple areas of instruction extending
beyond the core topic...ranging from customer service to supervision
& departmental management to job &/or food safety. The
intent
is to prepare most students of these subjects to handle multiple
positions in their department, making them more valuable to their
employer and increasing their earning potential. |

HITHS
"High Intensity Training" - Hospitality Support Professional Certification
LHA, CITS (housekeeper) & START (server) certification The HITHS program is an intensive 7+ week hospitality training program that qualifies beginning hotel support staff to take on basic front desk service, food/beverage service and room/general housekeeping duties. This increases the value of the employee to a full-service property in that the employee can "pinch-hit" in three departments as their facility's service needs vary. Over five professional certifications are awarded upon passing this course: "Cleaning Industry Training Standard" (CITS) certification testing is included; as is START (Skills, Tasks And Results Training) Certification for Front Desk Representatives & Housekeepers; Food & Alcohol Safety Certification & job safety training, and more. The learning is facilitated by classroom lecture, online & other learning activity material, and limited on-the-job demos & training.
LHA & Int'l Executive Housekeeper's Association (IEHA Frontline) Certification (test required) This intensive 5-week training includes +/-25 hours class time & +/-10 hours internship per week instruction, internship, along with online learning & activities. This program covers the full range of housekeeping training for rooms/general housekeeping; introduction to management of a housekeeping department; and operation of a commercial laundry. Due emphasis is placed safety, relating to physical, chemical & biological job hazards. Time and classroom space permitting, a longer alternative is the full semester CTH housekeeping course. However, scheduling of that course requires a full classroom and is less frequent.)
